Vitis Vinifera (vine)

The vine comprises around 60 species, with its fruit being the grape. This species is for consumption. Vitis vinifera has a twisted trunk, called a "cepa," knotty and flexible shoots, called "sarmientos," alternate petiolate leaves that are large and divided into five pointed lobes, called "pámpanos," greenish flowers in clusters, and its fruit is the grape. Originally from Asia, it is cultivated in all temperate regions. A field of cultivated vines is called a vineyard.
